Hi I’m Trent

I’m a designer, strategist, and problem-solver behind Tyni Performance Design.

With over seven years of experience in instructional design, I help organizations create learning that’s clear, purposeful, and performance-driven. Whether it’s onboarding a sales team, launching a product, or improving customer support skills, I specialize in building learning experiences that create real impact.

How I Work

I bring structure to messy problems, creativity to dry content, and calm to fast-moving projects.

My process is insight-driven and flexible — shaped by listening, asking the right questions, and digging deep into what people actually need to do their jobs well. I collaborate closely with clients, iterate often, and stay focused on building something that makes a difference.

What You’ll Get Working With Me

  • A partner who listens, adapts, and delivers

  • Training that’s rooted in performance, not just information

  • Experience across modalities — Rise, Storyline, workshops, video, and more

  • Someone who can hit the ground running, manage timelines, and still be easy to work with

Outside the Work Stuff

Before I landed in learning design, I taught in public schools, managed teams in restaurants, and ran programs for nonprofits. Those roles taught me how to read a room, pivot on the fly, and lead with empathy — all of which shape the way I work today.

I live in North Carolina with my wife (a nurse practitioner and my favorite human), and our two young kids, who keep life busy and beautiful. When I’m not designing training, you’ll probably find me outside — hiking, biking, gardening, or dreaming about our next adventure.

Credentials That Back It Up

  • M.Ed. in Education, UC Santa Barbara

  • B.A. in Communication Studies, Westmont College

  • MicroMasters in Instructional Design & Technology, University of Maryland (via edX)
